Juneteenth Camping Weekend Celebration

Location: The Nature Place, Florissant, CO (1.5 hours outside Denver)
Ready to celebrate Juneteenth with a weekend of adventure, community, and connection? Join us for a special camping weekend where we come together to honor our heritage, get outside, and create lasting memories. Nestled at The Nature Place in Florissant, CO, just an hour and a half from Denver, this weekend getaway offers the perfect mix of nature hikes, rock climbing, and campfire moments under the stars.
Whether you’re a seasoned adventurer or new to the outdoors, this celebration is open to all, including families. With flexible options for gear and meals, you can choose how much support you need, while still enjoying the freedom and beauty of the outdoors. From leisurely nature hikes to a day of facilitated rock climbing, we've got something for everyone.

Hiking: Explore the stunning natural beauty of the area with guided nature hikes, perfect for all levels of experience.
Campfire & S’mores: Gather around the campfire for some classic s’mores and good company.

Campground:
Enjoy access to toilets, showers, filter water, and ice at the well kept secret, The Nature Place, in Florissant, CO.
Bring Your Own Gear & Food:
Bring your own camping gear and food to enjoy the weekend at your own pace. Cooking stoves and gas will be provided.
Catered Meals:
Enjoy catered meals (breakfast and dinner) prepared for you during the weekend. Just bring your personal items. Minimum of 15 people required to cater meals, and lunch not included.Camping Gear:
Don’t worry about gear—let us take care of it! We provide tents, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, and all necessary camping equipment. Simply bring your personal items.
Rock Climbing
For just $67 per person, join us for a day of facilitated rock climbing, perfect for all experience levels. Whether you're an experienced climber or trying it for the first time, our expert instructors will guide you every step of the way. This experience is valued at $400, but we're offering it to you at an unbeatable price!

How to Reserve Your Spot:
Book Your Spot: Choose your accommodation level and/or specific add-on’s i.e. Camping Gear or Meals and select the rock climbing option if you'd like to participate.
Intake Form: After booking, you’ll receive an intake form asking for personal information, dietary preferences, medical needs, and emergency contacts.
Final Confirmation: You’ll receive a final confirmation email with event details, including location, itinerary, and what to bring. A 72-hour pre-trip confirmation will include a weather update, menu, route details, and other key information to ensure you’re prepared.

What to Bring:
Essentials:
Clothing: Comfortable clothes for hiking, lounging, and climbing. Pack layers for changing weather.
Personal Items: Toiletries, medications, sunscreen, and any personal items you may need.
Footwear: Comfortable hiking shoes or boots, sandals for around camp.
Water Bottle: 2L recommended.
Available for Rent (if needed):
Sleep System: Sleeping bag, sleeping pad, and pillow.
Camping Gear: Tent (shared or personal depending on availability).
Kitchenware: Cooking pot/pan, utensils, and camp stove with fuel.
Rock Climbing (Optional Add-On):
Climbing Gear: Helmets, harnesses, and climbing ropes are included with the optional rock climbing facilitation.
Meals:
Optional Meals: Saturday dinner and Sunday breakfast. We’ve got you covered with delicious meals throughout the weekend. $47/person for catered meals.
Additional Options:
Eleven Mile Canyon is within a 10 minute drive and offers some of the best hiking, climbing, and fly fishing in the state. Cash is required upon entry (~$10). Participants are encouraged to spend Friday or Saturday exploring the canyon.
Safety Disclaimer:
At Travl Wide, your safety is our top priority. All participants are responsible for their own safety, and we encourage everyone to bring appropriate gear for the weekend. For rock climbing, a helmet is required, and we recommend wearing comfortable, sturdy footwear. All personal equipment will be inspected by the instructor, and if deemed unsafe or outdated, a rental fee will be added to the participant's bill. All activities are rain or shine—if adverse weather forces us to cancel or modify the event, we’ll do our best to reschedule.
